A Comprehensive Nautical Event
The Quebec Marine Association (QMA) is pleased to welcome boating enthusiasts at the Montreal In-Water Boat Show which be help from September 9 through 11 at the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal where they will be able to visit boats both in the water and on the ground.
During this unique event, the visitors will have the opportunity to come by the QMA booth on the Jacques-Cartier dock where the association will be providing information the various aspect of boating such as security, proper environment friendly behaviour, nautical tourism and the important economic impact of this Industry in Canada and in the Province. The will also be able to get acquainted with the QMA programs, namely the Quebec Marina Rating Program, Eco-marinas and the Quebec Nautical Station Program as well as the Quebec nautical destinations.
Amongst the thirty exhibitors on site, participating to this 2nd edition of the show with innovative products, the visitors will have the opportunity to discover the electric powered boat, a really innovative product in tune with the eco responsible concept, developed and manufactured by LTS Marine. The Association has always been supportive of such environmental initiatives. Its involvement is exemplified trough the development of the Eco-marina Program in the Province which it initiated in 2007.
The Montreal In-Water Boat Show in an excellent showcase for the flourishing Boating Industry. In Canada, the Boating Industry has a 26.8 billion dollars impact on our economy. In Quebec, the purchase of new boats alone adds up to 400 million dollars . The Industry generates a contribution of more than 1.5 billion dollars in nautical tourism revenue to the Province economy and sustains 2,200 jobs in the manufacturing sector in Quebec.
The security of boaters has always been at the heart of the Association’s preoccupations, this is why it has requested the contribution of the Canadian Auxiliary Coast Guard to insure security in the basin during the show and create security awareness to the visitors. The Association want to extend its most sincere thanks to Drummondville Marine which partnered with the event in providing security equipment for the children on the quays.
