The Quebec Boating Industry on an Upswing

If the registration to the 2nd Montreal In-Water Boat Show is any indication, the Quebec Boating Industry has taken full advantage of the uninterrupted warm and sunny weather we have experienced this summer. The show is fully booked and will offer the visitors an interesting variety of boats to examine and test drive during the event.

Quebec Manufacturers will showcase their products

The Boating Industry is striving in the Province with economic windfalls of over 5.8 billion dollars annually. The Manufacturing sector alone is contributing over 1 Billion dollars to the economy and generates 2,200 jobs, 30% of the boat manufacturing workforce in Canada.

The show will give the visitors an opportunity to discover the variety of boats manufactured in Quebec since most of the manufacturers will exhibit their products at the show. Prominent manufacturers, such as Princecraft and Doral will be on hand. Frechette Marine et Fils will also be presenting its fishing boats manufactured under the Fresh brand name. Building on the impressive reception generated by its fully electric boat at the 2001 Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show, LTS Marine will also exhibit its innovative product the show. Air Solid will be presenting its inflatable boats. And, for the very first time Columbus will be presenting its high end fifty footer house boat and Armadia will be showing its costal catamaran, a different house boat of forty six feet.

Big boats!

In addition to the house boats, the visitors will certainly be most interested to see the dream boats in exhibition! Be it the Silverton and Mainship boats distributed by Boisvert Marine, the Crate’s marine’s Marquis and Cruiser Yacht, Marina Fortin’s Sea Ray, Marina Port Lewis’s Rinker, the Beneteau Trawler shown by Marina Gosselin and the Fourwinns and Regal distributed by Performance Marine. The visitors will be nothing short of amazed by the design, quality and sizes of these crafts! In all, around thirty different makes of boats will be represented in the exhibition.

All Sails Up!

Sailing is gaining in popularity in Quebec as exemplified by some of the events that took place this summer such as Cap à l’est and the flotilla that sailed from Quebec City to the St-Pierre and Miquelon Islands.  During the show, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss with the renowned international sailor, Georges Leblanc who will be in attendance, and visit his Volvo open 65 at dock. He will certainly pass on his passion for sailing on the open sea. 

Noteworthy Exhibitors

Amongst the exhibitors in attendance, some will stand out with their unique products. Amongst them, Crate’s Marine a new distributor in the Quebec Industry representing high end American made boats. Aqua Service will give the visitors the chance to discover a new comer to the Quebec market, Capelli, luxurious inflatable boats. Daniel Masson Marine will be presenting its Chris Craft, beautiful retro style runabouts. Boaters who would like to modify or custom design their boats will definitely be interested in the layouts offered by Ebenisterie St-Tite. Those seeking thrills and speed will likely be hooked by the Sunsation presented by Dubois Marine.  Finally those seeking comfort and luxury will pay more attention Costal Catamaran, a house boat manufactured by Armadia.

Many more exhibitors will be on site for the show with different types of crafts and water sport boats ranging from fishing boats and cruisers to pontoons. Visitors will want to see the Liberty Boats, Duclos Toy Store, Groupe Thomas Marine, RL Marine and Yamaha Motors while touring the show. Note that CMC Electronics, Delblanc and Montreal Heart Institute Foundation will also be present. They all are preparing to offer visitors a service second to none during the exhibition.

The Quebec Marine Association will of course be on site to present the numerous outstanding nautical destinations the Province has to offer and it’s Nautical Stations along with its various programs and member services.
