Back on the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show – Nautical activities in Quebec wins in popularity

Despite a terrible weather day on February 9th, the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show, who was held from February 7th to 10th at Place Bonaventure, ended on a high note with 2,5 to 5 % increase in attendance compared to the previous year. This attendance rate reinforces the one from last year Show which had a remarkable increase of 24.8% and had received nearly 30,000 visitors.
Presented by the Quebec Marine Association, the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show is the largest event of its kind in Quebec with more than 400 models of boats and over 275 exhibitors (10% more than in previous years). The 2013 Show has been diversified in order to fully satisfy all water sport, boat, fishing and nature lovers.

Founded in 1996, the QMA represents both the pleasure boating industry and individual boaters. It offers services to meet the specific needs of each of these segments. The QMA focuses on the advancement of pleasure boating and water sports, the development of a marina network infrastructure, boating, tourism, environmental protection and boating safety programs. The revenues generated by the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show are used to fund projects such as marina classification programs and eco-marinas, Quebec Nautical Stations program, and the national and regional Discover Boating program.
