2017 Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show: a success !
Brossard, February, 8, 2017 - The Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show (MBWS), held February 2 to 5 at Place Bonaventure, has just wrapped up last Sunday. For the Quebec Marine Association (QMA), the promoter, this edition proved to be a total success on all levels thanks to the rise of visitors’ traffic compared to the latest editions.
The QMA’s General Director, Mr. Alain Roy, recalled the importance of this event for the entire boating community. “As spring is a few weeks ahead, the MBWS remains a key event for boaters. In a certain way, the MBWS is an economic barometer of the upcoming boating season and that is why we are very proud of the last edition. "concluded Mr. Roy.
Exhibitors who are also QMA members can indeed rejoice. With 26,832 visitors, this edition exceeded the last year’s results in terms of visits. But above all, it is a new boost for Quebec boating industry that has experienced a slight decrease in sales over the last years. Indeed, the sales recorded during this show confirm the Quebeckers’ interest for water sports.
Among the many exclusivities, the MBWS presented for the first time a wide variety of fishing boats, pontoon boats, sport boats, cruisers, sailboats, engines and electric innovations such as the Bruce 22 or the Sealander. New this year, two thematic areas allowed visitors to discover a sailing simulator or follow seminars given by renowned fishermen.
The QMA warmly thanks its partners DEE Global, Agence Masse, Place Bonaventure, GES, Réseaux CYR, SUM Logistik for the quality of their work. Without forgetting Aviva and Desjardins who fully assumed their roles as sponsors. The QMA also wishes to thank the exhibitors for their high-end work especially in the visitor’s reception.
The Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show will be held next year at Place Bonaventure from 1 to 4 February 2018.
